Terry Donaldson is the author of The Lord of the Rings Oracle, Principles of Tarot and Step By Step Tarot (all Thorsons). He runs the London Tarot Centre, and is a practising magician and tarot reader.

In addition, this deck is also a card game for 2-6 players, ages 10-adult. Players journey to Middle-earth to destroy the One Ring. Tarot reader Terry Donaldson and artist Peter Pracownik co-created this deck as well as the Dragon Tarot. The game rules are by designer Mike Fitzgerald. This deck is available as a boxed set with Donaldson's guidebook The Lord of the Rings Tarot in which he discusses Tolkien's works as well as tarot techniques (272 pages).
