Unlined and in excellent condition, this poster is sure to please any Mauzan fan!/ Renowned Italian poster artist Luciano Achille Mauzan (1881 1952) transformed viewers into buyers with bold, humorous advertisements. An illustrator who was also versed in a variety of art forms, Mauzan created over 2,000 product, event, and war posters during the Golden Era of Posters. His posters are considered highly collectible, increasingly difficult to find, and spectacular./ Born on the French Riviera, he moved to Italy in 1905. He was known as a decorative illustrator designing during the Art Deco movement, though he also painted and sculpted. After a period of study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, France, Mauzan divided his life between Milan, Paris and Buenos Aires. Between 1920 and 1940, the period between the wars, he used forms and materials under the influence of the avant-garde cubists. He was also an illustrator of posters and postcards. Nel 1905 si trasferisce in Italia, A Milano e poi a Torino dove lavora come illustratore per riviste e cartoline poi per l'industria cinematografica. Tra il 1909 e il 1913 disegna circa 1500 locandine. Nel 1919 è a Roma dove collabora con la manifattura di ceramiche Palazzi. Nel 1924, rientrato a Milano, fonda con Federico Morzenti una propria casa di produzione grafica. Si trasferisce in Aregentina dedicandosi alla pittura e alla scultura. Nel 1932 rientra definitivamente in Francia, si dedica alla pittura. Nel disegno vengono rappresenti un uomo e una donna teneramente avvolti nel giorno delle nozze. Lei veste un semplice abito bianco-argenteo e guarda fisso l'osservatore con due azzurri occhi magnetici, lui in smoking posa lo sguardo timidamente sul volto dell'amata. La mano guantata di lui regge dolcemente quella della ragazza, quasi reggesse un prezioso e delicato gioiello. La donna poggia la destra delicatamente sulla spalla del marito a suggellare la loro fusione della loro unione. Due gesti semplici sottolineati dall'artista con eleganza e coinvolgimento. Si tratta probabilmente del bozzetto per un'illustrazione, forse una cartolina, un biglietto di auguri o una pubblicità. Ottimo stato di conservazione. Firma a matita in alto a destra.
