Size: Octavo Mayor 20x12cm. Novela.

Police were sure the answer to the disappearnce from her bloodstained village store of Bernice Worden lay in the nearby farmhouse of lone Ed Gein. But even in their worst nightmares, no one could haver imagined the scenes that confronted investigators. Her headless, butchered body hung by the heels from the rafters of an outbuilding. Even worse awaited them inside the house. Their terrifying, gruesome discoveries would inspire some of the most frightening horror movies even made including Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. Gein had used dead women to try recreating the body of his Bible quoting, priggish dead mother Augusta. Declared insane Gein spent the rest of his life in asylums before cancer took him off to join his master the Devil. But his legacy of dread lives on. Illustrated throughout Serial killers series 30pp includes a DVD about the Killers. The Biography Channel. Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Fine. First Edition. This first British hardcover edition is the true hardcover first edition as there was no American hardcover edition issued, and there is none planned. Surrounded in controversy, when American Psycho drew much criticism for its violence and sexism. The American publishers cancelled the hardback edition, but were forced to issue the paperback in order to fulfill contractual obligations. In 1998, Picador issued the first hardback edition of which this is one. The first British is very scarce, as there are no copies available on line anywhere. Signed copies are simply impossible to find. This copy is signed on the title page. The book itself is in fine plus condition and the jacket is unclipped and in fine condition as well. It is the true first with the numerical line on the copyright page ending in "1." The jacket is the first issue as well with the price of "10.00" pounds on the front flap. This was later changed to "14.99" pounds in the second printing. This copy was recently signed by Bret Easton Ellis at a recent speaking engagement in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. A foot injury has forced Mr. Ellis to cancel the remainder of his engagements. A very rare book signed and one of the most controversial and important novels to appear at the end of the 20th century in American literature. In custom made slipcase. Signed by Author(s).

Publisher's black cloth boards, lettered in silver to spine; navy blue end papers. Jacket artwork by Marshall Arisman priced £10 on inner front flap [changed to £14.99 on subsequent printings]. The second U.K. edition and first hardcover printing of the author's most controversial work. First published in the U.S. as a Vintage paperback original in 1991, after the Simon & Schuster edition was cancelled due to "aesthetic differences.". Foot of spine somewhat bumped, else an immaculate copy. Set in Manhattan during the stock market boom of the late 1980s, American Psycho narrates the nefarious activities of wealthy young investment banker Patrick Bateman, which range from recreation among New York's social elite to forays into murder by night. Upon publication Ellis was inundated with death threats and hate mail. A cult classic, it was adapted into an award-winning film with Christian Bale, Reese Witherspoon and Willem Dafoe.
