A near very good set, the bindings square and firm with some bumping and minor fraying at the spine tips and corners. The contents, with an previous owner's inscription to the front pastedown and endpaper of each volume, are somewhat spotted to the prelims and occasionally to the margins throughout. Part three and four (complete in two volumes) of the first English translation of Proust's 'Remembrance of Things Past' (the UK edition published in eight works over 11 volumes between 1922 and 1931). Translated from the French by G. K. Scott Moncrieff. First published in France between 1913 and 1927, 'À la recherche du temps perdu' is universally acclaimed as among the most influential works of modern fiction.
