A nice copy of the very rare First UK edition of Astronomer and Physicist J Allen Hynek's excellent work taking a scientific view of the UFO phenomenon. The original First was US published in 1972, and this is the first UK edition later that year. The UK edition seems to remain far more rare, especially in this condition. Pages are excellent: bright and clean, no inscriptions or notes, no tanning air foxing, remarkably good. Contains the erratum slip on the contents page. Binding is tight. DJ is unclipped, with the original publisher's price stick on inside flap. Pink covers retain their brightness. There are four small rubbed marks (see photos - 2 on cover 1 on spine, 1 on back); some general shelf wear and rubbing but overall very nice indeed. All plates intact. A really nice copy of a rare edition: at time of writing, no other first UK editions are for sale on the major bookstore lists. Now covered in clear professional moveable cover.
